Madison’s historic Olin Turville park and barn set the perfect backdrop for Washington State residents Emory and Sean, two great outdoor adventurers who met on an Outward Bound trip. While this wilderness experience tested their strength, determination and tolerance, they both knew early in their adventure that they had met their soul mate.
I first met with Marlene, Emory’s mother, 7 months before the wedding. We were starting from scratch. While super excited to have Emory and Sean get married, they were not sure how to start planning a wedding. We had many meetings to go over details, create to-do lists, as well as work on decor, logistics, and what day-of services I would provide.
Some of the services I provided were:
- Contacting vendors and working with them before and during the wedding
- Monitoring and meeting assorted deliveries for the wedding
- Assisting with decor set up the day before
- Organizing the families and Bridal party for the procession
- Overseeing two young amazing helpers
- Setting up tables and final decor on the wedding day
- Keeping the timeline for the day
- Coordinating transitions from dinner to dancing
Some of my favorite details were:
- The beautiful unique hand built arbor
- Live music for their processional
- A ceremony under the majestic oak trees of the park
- Locally grown floral decor in unique arrangements
